Which type of massage is right for me?
The right massage depends on your needs. If you’re looking for relaxation and stress relief, a Rebalance massage might be best. For muscle tension or pain relief, deep tissue or sports massage may be more suitable. If you have deeper issues, injuries, or chronic pain, we recommend booking with an Elite or Master therapist for specialized care. If you’re unsure, our therapists can recommend the right treatment based on your goals.
What is a Rebalance massage?
A Rebalance massage is our signature treatment, designed to restore harmony between body and mind. It combines deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, and intuitive touch to relieve tension, improve mobility, and support emotional well-being.
What is a deep tissue massage?
A deep tissue massage targets deeper layers of muscle and fascia to release chronic tension, break down adhesions, and improve mobility. It’s ideal for those with persistent pain, muscle tightness, or recovery from injuries. While it can be intense, our therapists adjust pressure to your comfort level.
When should I get a sports massage?
A sports massage is beneficial before or after physical activity, helping to prevent injuries, improve performance, and speed up recovery. It’s also useful for treating existing sports-related injuries or chronic muscular imbalances.
What does 'holistic' mean in massage therapy?
Holistic massage is more than relieving muscle tension—it’s about supporting the whole person. We focus on both body and mind, using targeted techniques to restore balance and mobility. But care doesn’t stop when your session ends.
To help you maintain these benefits, we’ve created our own magnesium and meditation products. They’re designed to support muscle recovery, ease tension, and bring moments of rest into your day. Simple, effective, and made for everyday well-being. Explore Rebalance at Home.
Should I talk about past trauma or emotional stress with my therapist?
If you feel comfortable, sharing past trauma, stress, or emotional challenges with your therapist can help deepen your healing experience. Our bodies store emotions in physical tension, and releasing that tension can sometimes bring emotions to the surface.
While massage therapists are not psychotherapists, we hold space for your healing and can adjust our approach to support your process. If you prefer privacy, you can always ask to speak with your therapist directly in the treatment room before your session begins. There’s no pressure to share, but openness can enhance the benefits of your massage.
Can I exercise after a massage?
We generally recommend waiting 24 hours before intense exercise, especially after deep tissue or sports massage, as your muscles need time to recover. Light movement, like walking or stretching, is fine and can help maintain the benefits.
How often should I book a massage?
The frequency of massage depends on your goals. For general wellness, once a month is ideal. If you’re dealing with chronic pain, stress, or recovery from an injury, weekly or biweekly sessions may be more beneficial. Your therapist can create a personalized plan for you.
What should I expect during my first massage?
Your therapist will discuss your needs, concerns, and any medical conditions before beginning the session. You’ll be guided on how to lie on the massage table and draped for privacy. The treatment will be adjusted to your comfort level, and you’re encouraged to communicate any preferences.
What should I wear to my massage?
For most massages, you will undress to your comfort level, as you’ll be covered with a towel.
Is it normal to feel sore after a massage?
Yes, mild soreness for 1–3 days after a massage is completely normal, especially if you received deep tissue or sports therapy. This happens because massage releases tension and breaks down adhesions in the muscles, similar to the soreness you might feel after exercise. Staying hydrated, taking a warm bath, and gentle stretching can help ease any discomfort. If soreness persists beyond three days, let us know.
Is it normal to cry during or after a massage?
Yes, it’s completely normal. Massage can release stored emotional tension, especially if stress, trauma, or memories are held in the body. The nervous system shifts from “fight or flight” to relaxation, which may bring emotions to the surface. If this happens, know that it’s a natural part of the healing process, and you are in a safe, supportive space.
Are massages painful?
Massage should never be unbearable. Some techniques, like deep tissue or trigger point therapy, may cause discomfort as tension is released, but we always work within your tolerance. Communication with your therapist is key—we adjust pressure as needed.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! You can purchase digital or physical gift cards for any amount.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment or no-shows will result in the full session fee being charged. Thank you for your understanding.
Do you accept insurance?
While we do not directly bill insurance, some clients may be able to claim reimbursement depending on their provider. We recommend checking with your insurance company.
What are the benefits of using Rebalance at home products?
Our products are designed to support muscle recovery, enhance relaxation, and restore balance through natural, high-quality ingredients. Whether it’s magnesium for deep tissue repair, meditation cushions for posture support, or Palo Santo for energy cleansing, each item helps maintain well-being between bodywork sessions.
How does magnesium support recovery and relaxation?
Magnesium plays a crucial role in muscle function, nervous system regulation, and stress reduction. Our Magnesium Massage Gel and Bath Salts allow for fast absorption through the skin, bypassing digestion for maximum bioavailability. This helps with muscle cramps, tension relief, and postural correction—perfect after deep tissue massage or physical activity.
What makes your meditation cushions and eye pillows unique?
Our Crescent Meditation Cushion is ergonomically designed to support natural posture and reduce strain on the hips and lower back. The Meditation Eye Pillow, filled with flaxseed and lavender, applies gentle pressure to release facial tension and promote deep relaxation—ideal for meditation, restorative yoga, or stress relief.
How can Palo Santo improve my meditation or relaxation routine?
Palo Santo has been used for centuries in holistic healing and energy cleansing. The warm, woody aroma helps reduce stress, clear negative energy, and deepen meditation or breathwork practices. It’s a perfect complement to yoga, mindfulness rituals, and post-massage relaxation.
Are your products ethically sourced and sustainable?
Yes! Our sheepskins are ethically sourced as a byproduct of the meat industry, ensuring no animals are harmed for their wool. Palo Santo is sustainably harvested from naturally fallen trees, supporting fair trade and reforestation projects in Ecuador. We prioritize natural, eco-friendly materials in all our products.
Can I use magnesium products if I have sensitive skin?
Our magnesium products are made from 100% natural sources. While magnesium is generally well-tolerated, some people may experience mild tingling. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend doing a patch test before full application and rinsing off any excess residue if needed.
How often should I use magnesium for muscle recovery?
For best results, we recommend using Magnesium Massage Gel daily, especially after workouts or deep tissue treatments. Magnesium Bath Salts can be used 2–3 times per week to help with stress relief, sleep quality, and muscle recovery.
